As soon as I saw the 600 volts sign, I knew I had to come back and capture this scene. Once I did, the building took on a personality all its own.

The other warning signs, which I didn’t spot at the time, add to a real sense of menace.

The early morning sun threw highly dramatic shadows which, again, I hadn’t factored. I have much to learn about taking photos.

The clincher for me is the grill on the window (far right). Ain’t no anklebiters ever escaping from this facility! 🙂

  1. Scary, scary childcare centre! Don’t think I’d be leaving small people there. It’s got a sort of electrical sub-station vibe going on.

Is that the trusty bicycle that shaves 30 minutes off your chore commute I see sneaking into frame?

    • Hi Angela. You’re my first commenter! Yep, that’s the bike. I had so much time on my way to the doctor this morning, I was able to compose this shot with time to spare. I’d never have done if I were in the car. 🙂
